Ah, to travel: The explanation for the Blog Name.

Perhaps you may be wondering why I chose the name 'Ah, to Travel' for my blog. Well, I'll attempt to explain that here.

For me, travel is more than just packing my bags and heading out. Travelling to me, is losing my mind and going somewhere else. I mean, don't get me wrong, I WILL go to Japan one day, and I WILL see the Sapporo Ice Festival... but there's more to it. My last blog included a link to Final Fantasy XIV where I mentioned that I like Roleplaying.

I really like it.

Roleplaying removes me from where I am and puts me into the game that I'm playing. It's a totally new feel that I'm really not used to and I love everything about it. You should try it sometime. Whether it be laying down, closing your eyes, and imagining the Shinto Shrine or actively playing a game that has a decent roleplaying community, it's incredibly stress relieving.

Ah, to travel. I think it makes sense. Hopefully, you do, too. Anyway. That's my moment of philosophizing. Have a good day folks.

A shinto shrine gate... very pretty.

Now that the introduction is out of the way...

So, you now have a basic idea of who I am...so without any further ado, I give you my first REAL post. :)

One of the first things to know about me is my love of online gaming. However, allow me to add one important caveat, folks. I'm not the kind of guy that will sit down at a computer and play world of warcraft for days on end. As a matter of fact, I'll never EVER play world of warcraft. I have my reasons :)

So. Final Fantasy XIV is coming out. It's the second installment of the MMORPG genre in the Final Fantasy Franchise and I'm not going to lie: I'm REALLY looking forward to it. The game looks like it's going to have its ups and downs and I'm okay with that.

So of course, when I heard the news from a good friend of mine (Her normal nickname is Mimiru), I headed straight to gamestop and reserved the collector's edition. It's going to be released on the 22nd of September, so I've got about a month to build myself up to this and get back into the swing of a REAL MMORPG instead of all those free ones you can get from designers such as gPotato and Nexon. It's going to be interesting.

If you haven't already checked out the website, you should do so. The design for the page itself is fantastic. You can hear previews of the music in FFXIV as well as read up on the latest lore, gameplay, and updates that Square Enix torments us with. Here's a link for ya:

I'm really looking forward to this game. I've just recently joined a Roleplayer's Coalition and I look forward to delving into that as well!

My character will probably look close to this :)
Anyway, that's it for today.
Ja mata ashita!

Hajimete o-me ni kakarimasu yo!

Hey everyone. So this is my first time actually creating a blog so I hope you all will find it rather interesting. Among my posts will be things that I find I enjoy immensely, things I find that I hate, and posts about the random going-ons of my life in general. I'll try to include as many pictures as possible and keep this blog light-hearted and drama free. I hope you enjoy it, and if you do, please follow my blog :) So for now, Allow me to introduce myself.

I'm an American Otaku. I love everything Japanese. The culture, the language, the food. It interests me to a point to where I happily look at pictures of Japan all day and study the japanese language on a day-to-day basis. I'm happily dating a girl who makes the best brownies EVER and is very pretty. We've been dating for 16 and a half months. I love me some waffles. I also love me some music. Most every kind of music appeals to me...with two exceptions. Country. Don't like it. Sorry. The twang just kills my soul. And Rap. It's useless. Learn to sing.

Thanks for reading. I'll try to keep things updated occasionally, but we'll see how I like things around here.

This would be me. Makin' friends with a statue.
